Dynamic Adaptive Radiotherapy for Prostate Cancer improves the efficacy of external beam radiation while reducing adverse effects. The new technique can detect fiducial markers placed into the prostate prior to therapy in order to pinpoint the precise location of malignant tissue. The radiation team may then alter the radiation dosage and placement to remove the cancer cells while keeping the patient healthy.   The procedure involves several seed implants with modest energy, making it appropriate for patients with limited tissue penetration. Patients who are candidates for this treatment have low-risk, locally progressed prostate cancer.
